Don’t Leave Supplemental DI Opportunities on the Table

Host/Speakers:

  • Kenny Russell, Director, DI Sales, Crump, and carrier representatives

Do you work with closely held businesses, law firms, physician groups, or executive groups? Do their employees have group disability insurance (DI) coverage?

Suppose you are not offering supplemental disability coverage to those clients. In that case, you may leave them unprotected should they become unable to work due to a disabling event—and you may leave sales opportunities on the table.

With group renewals and benefits enrollment just around the corner, now is the time to speak with the decision-makers at those companies about the importance of supplementing on top of DI (potentially with a discount) and possibly looking at options for guaranteed issue for mandatory executive carve-out situations.

Please join Kenny Russell, director, disability insurance sales, Crump, and carrier disability specialists as they discuss the need for and importance of supplemental disability coverage, explicitly focusing on markets and opportunities for guaranteed issues.

Guaranteed issue is done on a case-by-case basis; however, Lloyd's (specifically Hanleigh) requires that the coverage be mandatory for all in that class of employee down to a minimum of three lives. The class could be all considered executives in the company (including owners working full time); if it is a law firm, it could be all partners. Lloyd's can do guaranteed standard issue on supplemental individual DI, or business products such as key person.
